The car will be coming off the road at end of month, for winter lay up .
I will try swapping the suspension side for side and see if that sorts it . If so , I will replace shocks.
Thanks for the input everyone.
Cheers.
Tony.

Bent ARB could cause this, too

I had considered the possibility of bent or weak ARB , thing is though, with the rear lacked up and suspension hanging free, the distance from wheel centre to wheel arch is same both side. Wouldn't a cent ARB cause a discrepancy here too ?

Ok. At last got roundto looking at this today. Disconnected the ARB , as was suggested, this made no difference.
So swapped the complete spring and shock assembley, side for side.
And this seems to have cured it. Can't work out why that would be tho??
Is there any problem with running the car with the left shock on the right, and vice versa?

Perhaps when you took everything off it encouraged something that was a bit stuck, or out of line, to free itself up and go back to its proper position? :?

A wee postcript ... mine was about a finger different at the back, couldn't see any reason for it - until I took my front shocks off and found that one had a snapped spring right on the bottom coil. It was all held in place, just the crack to be seen - and with a bit of mud I'd never have noticed.

Now that I've changed the front shocks, same fingers on both sides at the back. Huzzah. :)

Have you let that fat girl out of the boot yet?

(Seriously, Angus' point about snapping springs - they don't properly chamfer the ends of springs most places (Not sure what Honda are like) and the ends stress and snap). Sometimes does odd things to handling.
