CVs are fine I replaced them both with new ones only 2 years ago both sets of boots are good no grease leaking.

Cheers Supermarine Blues! It definitely couldn't hurt to try it!
My ARB bushes look ok too, they were one of the first things I looked at!

I'll report back after I grease them up!

Well after putting up with the clicking for many months, I stumbled on the solution by rectifying a completely different problem.

I had a annoying exhaust rattle at 2000-2500 rpm and the engine vibrations had become quite heavy. What I found was this:

The mount for my downpipe had snapped completely and when I removed it the clicking had also stopped!

Love it when you get those unexpected fixes :D

looks like it's got a second fracture on it as well (across the left hand hole)

Are you gonna get it welded back on?

It has snapped there too Wurly.

Yeah, I think you might be right Ratty. I haven't heard a gas leak but I'm going to take it off and have a look now. :? To be honest I didn't check, I prized it out and threw it from under the car in disgust.

To be honest no. I'm going to leave it off. Inside has never been so quieter, she feels smoother, the exhaust note is so much nicer and welding it at the right angle I think will be a bitch!

That bracket went on mine too, left a hole in the pipe. Had it welded up, and a bracket made up to strengthen it.
