Mines a vertical one, I'm more used to them rather than the standard types

Looked at this having removed my ABS system. I'm running my lines like Rich at PA has done on his race project lude, remove the ABS / proportioning valve and take one line off the M/C to the fronts and the other line off the M/C to the rears with an inline adjustable bias valve (picked up a Wilwood). Then you can (if you're replacing the lines all the way to the rear, is run one line through the inside to the bias valve then to the hydraulic handbrake, then to a T splitter and to each rear caliper. Bit more work, but simple and consistent braking then.

So whats this all in aid of then Ammo, some FWD 'drifting' then? Seen some pretty impressive videos of some civics doing this, looks like fun.

I wanted to slap on another set of big brakes to the rear that I had, but its straight away an MOT failure without the cable brake. You can get hydraulic handbrakes with the cables included in them, but they are quite costly, then it's what you do at the other end. I know the likes of Hi-Spec, Ksport, etc can add cable function to most of their calipers, so it can't be rocket science...can it? :huh:

Any experience in this Phil?

As you said rob no cables = mot failure.you can run your big callipers by welding extra mounting points for them and keep the original calipers for the handbrake for the cables and run a separate cylinder with resouvoir for a hydraulic handbrake on these calipers too, or another trick is running cables from the hhb to the non handbrake calipers and drill a 2mm hole in both pads at the top and thread the (pushbike type brake cable) cable through with a solderless nipple on the end.when the handbrake is pulled the cables move so they look like they are working but the hydraulic bit is obviously what's stopping the wheel. Mot tester has got to believe its a mechanical means of stopping the car as he isn't allowed to investigate any further. Its common on rally cars as even a top x works wrc subaru from say 2005 doesnt have a cable and thats how they are from the works rally prep facility.
