5th gen 4ws woes

Post by M@dds » Wed Apr 24, 2013 6:21 pm

Hi chaps, I've got the usual problem people have with they're 4ws and I've had mine the whole time I've had the lude 3-4 years but I heard today the rules for the MOT have gotten stricter :/ I'm worried about my 4ws light being on and my MOT is Friday after next I was hope too:

1 successfully reset it

2 take the 4ws light out

I've tried the whole reset procedure and my first and only bump is that after retuning the steering wheel straight the light does not go out ready for me to turn the steering 45 degrees clockwise again, the light just stays on the error code is 74 hoping there is some knowledgable chap who knows how to over come this?

Is taking the bulb out time thirsty?

Thanks chaps in advance

Cheers guys firstly I know :/ I don't want to have to take a bulb out in the dash but if I have no luck this is my last option :(

I'm using a paper clip to short the plug out

I've tried this a fair few times through the time of owning the car but never has any luck

I'm not sure if the hand brake light comes on or not ill have to check tomorrow now just put her back in the garage :(

I used a paper clip to reset mine and it worked fine. I should of given those bits from the donor car to try. If you need help with it I'm sure I owe you a favour or two. But taking the bulb out is an easy job. Mine didn't have a bulb in for over a year.

try piece of wire, some paperclips are not conductive

... and as I've mentioned on another thread, the angle of turn is more critical than you might think. (Don't go less than 45 deg. Don't go more than about 55.)
