Abs and 4ws

Post by Monceris » Mon Oct 14, 2013 8:15 pm

Hello,
I have a question.
My ABS is not working, getting 1 error (motor pump run over).
I do not want to fix it, but completely remove that ABS block and ABS ecu from my BB1. Will it affect my 4WS (at the moment it is working normally)?
As I know ABS and 4WS uses same speed sensors.

If you lose the abs, yes the 4ws will also go into fault mode.

The only way around it would be to get a 4ws ecu from a 4ws non-ABS car (there were some, though not many) retain your rear wheel sensors and try to alter the wiring to suit the different ecu.

Your simplest option has got to be to fix the abs by changing the pump!
