The real expense comes when the hydrolastic suspension needs a major service. No change from 20 grand!!! But a nice car, non the less.

Really?
They're basically just standard Citroen Spheres aren't they? (which go from about £25 from a specialist)

Is this a case of stories being spread among RR and Bentley circles that the suspension is some entirely unique mythological creation that can only be worked on by a RR/Bentley specialist?

If so, looks like suspension servicing is a game I want to get in on, sharpish!

I believe its the same citroen system bought in by RR 'off the shelf', but in RR packaging, goes back to the days of the Shadow Mk1's and 2's. But the extra cost comes attached to the RR kudos. They also used to buy in their 'Hand made' radiators from Taiwan, and only hand polish them.
