Agreed on new/old gunk difference (but not on the EU link).

The old stuff was excellent, the new stuff is crap by comparison.

Its all about what solvents we are and are not allowed to have as joe public and trade. Same reasons all the paint is going water based :x  safer standardisation basically means more money for less of a product that doesn't work as well.

All the cool stuff is getting watered down or changed slightly so it's not the good stuff anymore. you cant get real poppers anymore would be an example. EU or whoever = bastards.

Is everyone politely ignoring this or am I on the wrong page?

Amyl and isopropyl IIRC are still about if you look hard enough.

Petrol, white spirit and isopropyl alcohol will get the job done, plus lots of water to wash it off - preferably via a pressure washer. Buy now before they're banned...!

The EU now has regulations for about 75% of things we do/buy/sell/consume, so it is an obvious thing to blame, if you want to blame anyone. It's just a shame that we don't get the chance to vote out any government that makes stupid rules anymore, where we once could blame Westminster. These days, all the UK government does is enforce EU rules...
