Car body undersealing

Post by SuperTom86 » Sun Jun 25, 2017 1:11 pm

Hi folks, just wondering what everyone's opinion is on the best method of underbody and wheel arch rust prevention?

I've seen folk recommend a two stage method, 1st layer being a hard drying underseal then followed by a second layer of waxoil type product which remains slightly soft to absorb stone impacts etc.

Opinions welcome, thanks!

In terms of the arches, also protect them from the inside as they rust from the inside out. This involves stripping out some of the interior and spraying a cavity wax down there, something like dynax s50. For the general underbody underseal, dinitrol comes quite highly recommended.

Yes definitely the most important thing on a prelude is to get inside the rear arches and sills with a decent cavity wax - Dinitrol ML or 3125 (ML is slightly more suited to the rear arches but 3125 would be fine)
