Hi everyone my electric windows stopped working at the same time...I checked 40a fuse in engine bay looks fine. Relay which i heard is the same for electjdc sunroof must be ok as sunroof working...and switch in drivers door seems ok as click and lights up when ignition om and looks like power getting to motor. Surely both motors haven't packed in? What could have made them both stop any help would be appreciated ?
Thanks Ben

Power window relay doesn't also feed the sunroof according to 5g manual page 23-113
Also the light in the switch is on a different supply (fuse No. 10) so you can still have lights, but no power.
First simple tests;
1. Is the 'Main' switch in the drivers window switch panel on?
2. The basic relevant fuses to check are No. 43 (7.5A), No.33 (50A), No. 37 (40A) (those 3 are in the engine bay fuse box) followed by No. 16 (20A) and No. 15 (20A) (those 2 are in the under dash fuse box)
3. When you say 'looks like power getting to the motor' what do you mean/how do you know/have tested?
4. After all that, the circuit becomes unnecessarily complicated to fault find
After that, I suggest following the self-diagnosis procedure on page 23-111 (might as well see if it can tell you anything useful!)
After that, you should check the power window relay and the relevant grounds (earths).
Then it's down to the control unit or wiring...

Re: 5g electric windows
I'm experiencing a similar problem but do not have a 5th generation manual. Where can I get an English version of the manual? [UNAMUSED FACE][SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
