Going from that photo you sent posted. Mine goes cruise, roof and front fogs across the top, no rear fog button and headlight adjustment on the bottom, Dunno how to get a photo up

It does look as if whoever's installed the Clifford has used the lower switch position for the alarm. If this means that the front and rear fogs are now commoned up to the one switch (and therefore one relay), the fault could be where they've spliced the two together.

The layout in mine is the same as ek9sid's, so it's interesting that the fog and cruise switches are mirrored. I think different 5G models may have had different layouts. Is yours a 2.2?

Yeah mine is. There is no obvious signs of splicing, there is a spare blue plug behind the panel.

Is the car in question an import? If so then there wouldn't have been a rear fog switch from factory, and the importer probably did a half arsed job and wired the rear fog into the front fogs circuitry.

I don't think so Pete.

Mine was also the same as in the image posted by Sid. That top bank should be the same in all UK Preludes as that was the standard (correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly sure all UKDM 2.2s came with CC, if his is a 2.2) with front fogs being optional.

I think we can all assume that someone has mullered the wiring/layout on this Prelude.

But that switch is (intended to be) for front fogs, rather than rear fogs.
Front fogs are dipped down (hence the angle of the beam shown) whereas rear fogs are not.
Hence... The top switch should not be the standard fitment, the bottom fog switch should be.

You're right that the wiring has obviously been drokked about with on this car though, which doesn't help the starting point for diagnosing the fault...

Of course, I'm ignoring the symbol on chris's switch (because the whole lot is just wrong) and talking about how it should be, as shown in Sid's image:

And in my own Prelude:

Unless I am being a total dunce and missing what you're saying.

Ah fair do's... I was referring back to the most recent photo on the thread.
You're right then, looking at that.

Interesting then, that not only had the front fog switch was removed in favour of the alarm light, the original rear fog switch has also be changed for a front fog switch from a 4g!
