Key stuck in ignition - need some help on this one

Is this an auto (or is it a manual that's been converted from an auto)? Some auto's had an interlock between the ignition key switch and the gear selector IIRC. It's in one of the 4th gen service manual supplements.

Alright guys....sorry not been able to update u lot...the door lock is changed and so is the boot lock and so is the ignition barrel but same problem, key is still stuck. The old barrel was f****ed anyway so had to be changed but apparently need the ignition barrel lock mechanism to fix this issue. Any1 know where I can get 1 or someone who is breaking a car that I can pinch? Cheers

if it was an auto the barrel will have an electric feed connected to a switch on your brake pedal and to the old gear position sensor
