Any update on this?

We can confirm if it was built as a manual or auto by looking at the VIN.

What is the 4th character?
It'll start with either BB4-x or BB1-x

What is the x on yours? Should be either a 1 or a 2.

Anyway, I'll give the same response that I think I did that time. Unless I didn't and I'm imagining this of course... :?
Is this an auto (or is it a manual that's been converted from an auto)? Some auto's had an interlock between the ignition key switch and the gear selector IIRC. It's in one of the 4th gen service manual supplements.
Have you been borrowing Donald's time machine after whisky again?

Alright guys....sorry not been able to update u lot...the door lock is changed and so is the boot lock and so is the ignition barrel but same problem, key is still stuck. The old barrel was f****ed anyway so had to be changed but apparently need the ignition barrel lock mechanism to fix this issue. Any1 know where I can get 1 or someone who is breaking a car that I can pinch? Cheers

And I will check the vin now!

if it was an auto the barrel will have an electric feed connected to a switch on your brake pedal and to the old gear position sensor
