Swap 94 analogue dash for digital 96

To clarify - that's In Car Entertainment - not frozen water

Cheers
Not that I know of. I'll just be taking a picture of new/old next to each other on the day they get swaped, for record purposes.

:D Hey, you don't ask, you don't get!

Thanks, we'll see - I have in mind to stick a conservatory/orangery/whatevertheheckyoucallit extension on the side of the kitchen maybe this year*, which would mean replacing the manky kitchen I currently have, so I may well be in touch! :D

(* it just gets a bit complicated because where I want to extend out to, is over the top of the main drains and manholes for the house  )

Are you from anywhere near Nottinghamshire?

:scaredtoss: The moment of truth...

:hurr:
8-)

Just one minor problem that it's now too dark and cold to look into... The indicator repeaters on the dash work in reverse (correct side but on when they should be off etc.) I suspect this is down to an earth not being right and I was half expecting this, because I noticed what seems to be an error in the schematics when I was looking them over.

Schematics show 3 independant earths, but all have the same pin number 'B6' (there can only be one wire running off B6). The original dials had 3 seperate earths on 3 different pins. I've left one of those floating and guessed on whether to connect one to the connector (C) that runs the indicator/main beam lights, or not - my 50/50 guess must have been the wrong one

I suppose technically I also haven't checked the tacho and speedo - battery was too flat to start the car

Yeah will sort that and box it all up tomorrow. Just a PITA sodding about with the wires now - there's no damn space to work with the dials still in there, so it all has to come out again first

Sorted
Didn't have to take the whole dash out again, 'cause I remembered I'd hedged my bets on this one and connected the pin at the back of the dials but left it disconnected at the other end where it was accessible. Connected it up and hey presto :D

Question for other EL dial owners to follow though...
