headlight help

Post by minimoose » Mon Dec 09, 2013 5:11 pm

Right have changed my passengers headlight bulb because I thought it had blown put new bulb in and re-attached all wire harness etc and headlight still isn't working.
The bulb lights up on full beam but not on normal lights :s
Have checked fuses they are fine and loom is fine aswell.
Any ideas so I can actually see at night :(

Have you checked the condition of the terminal inside the connector? They can get covered in verdigris and not make good contact.

Also check the terminal is in the right hole in the connector (so it connects onto the right terminal on the bulb). Not sure how 5th gen lights work, but that's a resonably common problem on 4th gens where one normal headlight bulb is used only for dipped and another normal bulb is used only for main - so only 2 terminals actually connect onto a 3 terminal bulb...

Try the new bulb in the other headlight to rule out a faulty bulb ;)

I had the exact same problem turned out to be a split in the live wire from the fuse box to the light itself try stealing a connection from the other side?
