Key stuck in ignition - need some help on this one
Hi people new to this forum this is my second post.
Last night the key got stuck in the ignition in the acc position. When you push the key in and the rotate it anti clockwise, this does not happen and the key is basically stuck in there.
I've ordered a new ignition barrel so I was wondering if there may be any immobiliser issues due to a new key or is It a simple straight swap?? My key ATM is a key fob but don't know if it is link or programmed with the immobiliser?
Can someone give me some advise? Cheers

Anyway, I'll give the same response that I think I did that time. Unless I didn't and I'm imagining this of course...

Is this an auto (or is it a manual that's been converted from an auto)? Some auto's had an interlock between the ignition key switch and the gear selector IIRC. It's in one of the 4th gen service manual supplements.

Or the auto clocks and the wrong engine might all be because of a conversion from an auto...
Have a look under the centre console cover around the gear shift, see if there's an extra black box with wires coming out of it. If so, that's the auto gearshift selector box thingy doobrey. It might have something to do with the no vtec problem and the ignition key being locked in the ignition switch. And it might have been triggered by the gearbox off for the clutch.
