Dab

Post by c_doughty1 » Wed Mar 04, 2015 9:11 pm

Has anyone used an fm / dab splitter to fit a dab stereo using the existing aerial on the rear of the car? I've just bought a new Kenwood dab stereo that's really nice 8-)

Thought you needed a different aerial to receive dab signals?
You can get either shark fin type things to go on the outside of the car, or ones that run along the inside of the windscreen/dash, from the brief time I spent looking into it recently?

Yeah DAB has to use it's own antenna, which you should've got with the stereo.

If you got it second hand with the DAB antenna, you'll need to source one.

wow 2 years ago and i thought it took me ages to do jobs  the dab aerial on my second lude is a stick on one stuck to the inside of the windscreen seems to work fine saves drilling holes i guess
success is the ability to go from one failure to the next without any loss of enthusiasm :D :D

Yeah I know but I think I need to do this the proper way, including fill n spray where the old aerial is currently... super excited.

Lo :D
I bought a portable DAB from halfords and fitted it in my center console and I have hidden it under a removable cover.
It connects to my double din wireless.
It came with an ariel with a magnetic base which I used to stick to my boot at the corner of my rear screen.
Only problem is that it leaves scratches when I remove and replace it :(
Cheers ;)
