radio code location for a 1989 gen 3???

Post by bees » Sun Oct 02, 2016 2:42 pm

Hi,

I have the original radio displaying a 'c' which i am assuming is for Code. Various posts online say look for a sticker in the glove box, but i havent found any. Anyone found their code somewhere else? There was no documentation when i bought the car.

Cheers

Gordon

If it's a UK car, a Honda dealer should be able to look it up for you?
Depending on your relationship with the parts dept (are you on first name terms with them i.e. spent far too much cash there     ) you might or might not get charged for it though...

It sounds like your radio was swapped out at some point - Most 3G Preludes in the UK came with a Panasonic head unit. Perhaps explains why they couldn't trace the code.

The Philips is really rare - I've only ever seen it in the UK brochures! :o

I've got number 2 on the 1990 list!!! (Panasonic CQ-SH676A). I think some of these ended up in the early UK 4Gs too?

Ah, my dad bought one of those Phillips radios when he worked for a subsidiary (and they ran a Phillips staff shop).
It was actually a really good headunit.
Phillips themselves may well be able to help with the code - they have excellent aftersales support tbh.
