Right, now I'm stumped, car starts but doesn't run for more than a few seconds, where I thought I wasn't getting power to fuse number 2 it appears to be only with the starter so not that as applied a voltage separately and works the starter as well. Any ideas?

Searching as much as possible and looks like fuel issue as I have spark but won't run for more than a few seconds. Just checked the main relay and with ignition on I get 12v at pins 1,3,5 & 8 with pins 2, 6 & 7 at ground. Should pin 7 be getting 12v?

Pin 7 is the feed to the fuel pump, from the relay. You should have 12v on pin 7 when the engine is running, otherwise the fuel pump wouldn't be running.

The main relay is a 2 stage relay.
Uses the feed from the igntion switch to operate the fuel pump during start/engine turn over (onto pin 6) to temporarily energise the relay, but when the engine is running it takes a feed from the ECU instead (onto pin 3) to hold the relay energised.

Page 11-107 to 11-109 in the service manual describes the relay in detail.

The imombiliser may be interupting the feed onto pin 3?

Brilliant, Many Thanks.
With the pin outs and wire colours I should be able to trouble shoot this now.
Roll on the weekend more wiring checks and hopefully I'll get a working car again!

After a short check looks like something is interrupting / stopping the fuel pump working so rather than trying to remove more crap I'm going to run another feed through a relay when it turns up.

Relay wired in and it now starts and runs at last, will take it out Tuesday for a decent run and see if it works properly

Right finally appear to have fix it!
Steering wobble was a stuck brake due to standing so long waiting to get fixed.
Alarm and immobiliser all taken out and all running issues appear to be resolved.
Just needs an MOT now!
Thanks for all the help
