check this wiring out

Post by firstlude » Thu Mar 16, 2017 9:25 pm

so having some spare time i thought i would check out whats going on with the poor sound from my door speakers , firstly it looks like someones fitted the smallest speakers they could find

Image

then it only gets worse what the f**k is this for wiring :o

Image

Image

seems they fitted good speakers just very very badly

Image

so i rewired them properly with proper size cable Image

guess what that bit of paper used to insulate the wiring is only a kfc receipt  dated 2007 from woking in surrey not bad seen as i am in devon , so its done 10 years as an insulator didnt realise kfc even fitted speakers

i would say the plate and speakers must have been brought as an upgrade kit ,cause like you say the plate is a pukka fit i assume the original speakers would of been larger hence the plate

They do have mounting plates the speakers fit to, although can't remember the size of speakers I upgraded in mine as it was probably 10-12 years ago.
Has some decent size cable, properly fitted helped the sound?

Wow i have to admit ive been pretty poor with electrical bits in the past but i would have at least used solder and some insulation tape!
