Modified 5G 2.0I BREAKING FOR PARTS - BLACK/BLUE
I picked this up last weekend as it had no tax, no mot, a jobby load of rust and a two tone colour combo haha, but it does have a interested load of parts that interested me. I bought it for one reason, to break for parts.
It is a 5G 2.0l, not the 2.2v.
I bought it in the dark, pretty much unsure so when i opened up the bonnet the day after I was quite shocked to see, what looks like a brand new engine with ancilleries and some nice additions....
So here she is in all her glory, if you want anything just let me know.... (I will open a new parts topic as she gets broken further).
Motegi front lip and 1x N/S side skirt...
Standard blue skirt lol...
Unknown brand, fully adj suspension...
Now the part that shocked me most... the engine bay...
It all looks brand new.....different new engine me thinks
Cusco front strut brace, new battery, induction kit, heco wind deflectors..
Any of the engine parts interchangeable between the 2.0 and the 2.2v?
Let me know if anything needs anything...

Ok, so after doing abit more research on it, turns out that it hasnt had a different engine at all, VIN numbers check out and ive triple checked, and had HPI checked.wurlycorner wrote:Check the engine number on the block against the one stamped on the vin plate.Lankysod07 wrote:It all looks brand new.....different new engine me thinks

I havent got round to having a look just yet but will get back to you on this, calipers have all been resprayed in red however and look in good nick, no sticking or rubbing!BrokenSpring wrote:What sort of condition are the brake heat shields in? My fronts are pretty much corroded away. And since I need to service all my brakes I could swap new ones on.
What brake callipers and discs does it have?
Also what are you looking for the suspension?
I had a quick look at it, looks possibly universal, the came with two other univeral backboxs actually if anyones interested.Lankysod07 wrote:Ok, so after doing abit more research on it, turns out that it hasnt had a different engine at all, VIN numbers check out and ive triple checked, and had HPI checked.wurlycorner wrote:Check the engine number on the block against the one stamped on the vin plate.Lankysod07 wrote:It all looks brand new.....different new engine me thinks
