thats the IACV

the FITV is under the throttle body, controls fast idle at cold start

but if you got idle problems best to try both or give em a clean
(Sorry to thread hijack here, but this post was relevant so...)

The JDM has crap idle control (drops too low when you lift off, before recovering).
It's not a cold idle or start problem so I suspected the IACV and am gonna whip it off for a clean, but just a quick question as to whether in peoples experience I need a replacement gasket or it tends to be ok to re-use (with blue hylomar).

Cheers

You should be fine to reuse if they are not broken, just watch out for the little rubber o-rings as they can fall out once you have removed the IACV.

Another explanation is that you could have a hole in the exhaust before the O2 sensor. That also gives rev drop, I had this once with a previous Lude. Faulty IACV's usually make revs higher.
