Ahhh, So this is the best part of the forum...

Ah, way back in 1987 i bought a 1980 Honda Accord 1.6EX, 1602cc of power, from my dad.

Electric sunroof, electric windows all round, 4 doors, comfortable, cruise control, power steering, the envy of mates in their little gay 1.3 MG Metros and 1.3 Escorts. I was king pimp.

I spent the first 3 months of ownership with it in my grandad's garage learning the joys of P38 filler and rattle cans from Windmill Hill Honda, good old Honda Tudor red.

Alas 3 years later the rust problems had filled the MOT sheet, so much so they ran out of space to write any more, that i had to say good bye and EJB 491V went off the the scrappy.

The love of first cars cuts deep into your soul, I was a Honda man, more importantly an Accord man.

1997 saw me buy me buy my second Accord, a 1994 LSi 1997cc (CC7) £9200 with 27k on the clock. I loved this car, had it for nearly 14 years and sold it looking like this -

drokking loved that car, thought i would never be able to replace it, but then i bought this -

Promised the missus i wouldn't spend a penny on this, will keep it standard and just keep it clean every now and then, Yeah right!!

Always regretted selling the Lude, but i had too at the time. But those regrets do disappear when i sit behind the wheel of the ATR

I think I've asked this before... Is your old lude still about do you know?

I bet the green accord looked better when you sold it, then when it was 14 years younger, right?!

My old Prelude is still showing as taxed with DVLA (or it was a couple of months back). The lad is sold it to put some leather seats in it (something i wanted to do) and then put it up for sale with some crap wheels and a cracked bumper. That was probably 2 years ago now. Not seen or heard anything since.

Here's the CC7 probably about 3 years after i had bought it. I had changed the indicators and it was before Zippy was installed on the rear view mirror. Exhaust came shortly after. The pictures above were taken when i sold it, so yeah, it didn't do bad! lol!

Both look good Lloyd :) Still hankering after an ATR myself, more practical than my Lude :D 4 usable seats would be a godsend!

The ATR was the perfect compromise to going down to one car, the 4 doors, big boot and practicality of the CC7 and the power, handling and fun of the Lude.

I prefer the ATR to the Lude, it drives better, handles better and doesn't feel like a big family saloon, in fact it feels a smaller car to drive than the Lude, probably due to the big bonnet on the Lude.

I doesn't have the kerb appeal of the Lude though, it isn't as pretty and isn't quite as satisfying to turn round and look at it after you have parked it up.

I loved the look of the CC7 too, that looked spot on in my opinion.

I know what you mean about the kerb appeal. Never had that with any car I've owned. The lude though, sexy....especially the arse end.

That must be a CB650?

I spent a lot of time in the 80's on the back of my mate's CB500. It was possessed by the devil.

He slid off on a roundabout, he went one side of a lamppost and his bike the other. Trip counter was reading 666 when we picked it up off the floor. Lol.

Gosh, not many people know what a CB650Z is, good on you, same era as the 900f's and, of course, the awesome CBX 1000, they're worth a fortune these days, I almost bought one about 7 years ago with 250 miles on the clock for 5g, it'd be worth about 10 -12 now!!! I also have a CB750 K2, '74 model and a yam FJ1200. Funny how Honda cars of the time did suffer from tinworm, though, unlike their modern equivalents. They were good days, though.

I used to have a 400F: eminently chuckable and as much fun as the bigger fours, even if not as quick.
