@vanzep recently put together a list when he did it himself, was just over £200 in parts alone IIRC.

For a 5G my local Honda garage charge £342.68 inc Parts, Labour VAT and everything. This is for TIming Belt, Balance Belt & Auto Tensioner.

Breaks down as:
Belt 1 - £32.00
Belt 2 - £32.00
Tensioner - £101.57
Labour - £120.00
VAT - £57.11

My local specialist wasn't all that different. I reckon there'll be cheaper places around though, and a 4g may be less?

Money depending, you may also wish to look at a couple of other bits while at it....
:worms:

You may not thank me for this - might just be added complication..

Good luck

Double rep for that because you very helpfully included part numbers I need :geek:

Unless of course there is any major difference in parts for the H22A (which I presume you have) or the H22A8 that I have.

im in the midlands, middle of the country but near no other ludes!

cheers for the info guys, much appreciated. my parts have all come through now, just trying to find a good price for the work, got quoted just for a rad swap 2.5hrs @ £76p/h at my local honda garage (excluding coolant), so i think independent is in order! first to get the rocker cover gasket and rad then really sit down and look at what needs doing next. just wish one of u lude wizards could come give it the look over, im still a bit dazzled by it i think and might be overlooking problems haha!

I'm sure there's lots of members who'd be very happy to take a look over her if car/member could find a way to meet!

:? Your local Honda dealer have well over-egged the labour there! :?

I have a receipt for when the rad was changed on my UKDM at Honda in 2007 for 2 hours @ £65/hr (£130).
That 2 hours labour included changing 2 outer CV joints as well!!!

There was no charge for coolant (but the rad cost £242.75 :o )

On the strength of that, you could ring them back and ask them what they're playing at?
(Mind you, if you're supplying the parts, that might explain it?)

(As an aside, just noticed the mileage when the rad was changed - 111,266. So it's only done 19k in the last 6 years  ) And my insurance company had trouble believing when I said my estimated annual mileage was 5k  )
