4th gen drivers side rear pad carrier - National Meet???

Post by wurlycorner » Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:00 pm

Grrr...

So this explains why the handbrake was crap and possibly why the stiff rear wheel bearing.
Slider pin completely seized  (boot was intact, I've cut it off)

Not got much hope on getting this out (whacking the crap out of big mole grips clamped on the end has got it to turn a couple of degrees and that's it).

So has anyone got a pad carrier for the drivers side rear of a 4th gen please?

Not bothered about condition of the pad clips or slider pins because I'm renewing all those, but the casting needs to be in good nick with the slider pins not completely sezied in like this one.

Anyone going to the national meet maybe???
Pretty please????

I was going to suggest heat. They do come out. When it is out run a drill bit in and out with plenty of grease.

Maybe yeah, but being that badly seized, the bore will be in pretty bad shape corrosion wise, so for how easy it should be to pick up a second hand carrier and not have that worry I'd rather do that.

(Assuming I can get the damn thing off - the head of the bolts holding it on don't look in great health!) :?
