:( we should be able to have public floggings of people that hit us who have no insurance. Not to death or anything, just scars.,

Yeah doesn't look too bad, a wing and a door by the looks? Easy bolt on panels to change.

That really really sucks though, really sorry to hear it.

I take it the police are prosecuting the un-insured rhubarb and your legal cover on your car insurance will pursue a civil claim against him too?

sorry to hear this. I know what you feeling now. Not so long time ago I had similar situation. Driver was insured but in germany and he is from usa. Highways lawyers sais there is small chance to get this moneys back and it can take ages so they not gonna deal with my claim. But they freezed my no claim bonus for 6 months.
This friday I'm going for unplanned holiday to fix front end. Bonet, bumper, wing must be resprayed

I wish you luck with your claim

Sorry to see this. Not sure of exact circumstances but one of the many phone calls I received after being hit by someone who drove off was a company who told me about the MIB .....no, not the men in black! But the motor insurers bureau.

Might be worth a look to see if there's anything that you can get. Apparently insurance companies are reluctant to tell people about this fund that exists but who knows it might be helpful http://www.mib.org.uk

Good call Sarah, I didn't know you could make a claim through MIB for un-insured drivers....interesting...

It's one of the only useful things I've gleaned from the many calls in recent months (usually whiplash chasers).

The woman who I spoke to told me to mention it to my insurance as it's a pot of money set aside for stuff like this but she did say they'd never offer it up or tell me about it unless I asked first. Can't say I'm surprised at that though given the number of people who Aviva and Endsleigh have sold my contact details to! Thankfully the dishonest person who hit me was insured so I didn't need this. Worth a shot though I reckon.
