Some time ago I bought headlights from Ahmad (@usman754). They arrived with broken lugs.

Really sorry for the inconvenience. My cousin runs a post office. Tried to speak to him but he was't available, tomorrow first thing I will ask him that what is the best way to claim our money back. HOPEFULLY fingers crossed he will know everything. As soon as I get money you can have your Money back. Please do not throw the packaging away just yet also, take few more pictures of damage. Keep the headlights buddy no point me having them back and again I am sorry for this. I genuinely feel sorry for you..

I have to check my dustbin but I believe box is still there. Do you want me to send it back to You?

TBH I never gone through any claim so also have no idea what to do.My only idea is to start new thread on forum and I believe guys will help as they always do.

The other thing is I did some reserch and I found glue siutable for polypropylene. The manufacturer say it will be more likely to crack in other place than glued as glue react with material and make it even stronger. There is one on ebay. This might be a good solution if anything else filed.

Hi buddy,
I have got the claim form for parcel force.
There are few requirements which we need to cover unfortunately. This company is asking for packaging. If it is not available they wont pay the compensation. Is it any chance that you still got it? That is the option of damaged. There is also an option of loss. I don't know these things as I have never done this before. We can claim £100 back from either. I need your cooperation please. How do you think we should place this claim?

sorry to know this. I promise you I have posted them in perfect condition. we have got £100 compensation with parcel force. I have got receipts I will speak to them first thing in the morning and do my best to get some money back. Then we can sort this out. I am really sorry for inconvenience personally I would not be happy if I get something damage like this. Leave it with me and I will keep in touch.

I just come back from work and my neighbor droped me a box from you. When I open it I found that one light have broken 2 botom lugs. I found them in the box as well. It is the light which you put on the bottom of the box with them lugs going down. I know it's not your fault as it probably get damaged in post.

I don't really want it as I was looking for perfect cond spare ones. What is your solution?

It seems like he probably got nowhere with Parcelforce.

To be fair it appears he's doing/done all he could, the fact that they arrived broken with the broken bits in the box does suggest that it happened in transit, although this will never be confirmed unless you have pics of them intact before they were sent. Plus I assume you still have the headlights, are they not repairable? I understand the annoyance of no contact though, especially since he was on the forum last night.

I think you always run the risk of being disappointed with sending fragile items, I've been through near enough the same situation as you except both lights were damaged in transit, so I know how annoying it is. In the end though it's more hassle than it's worth to sort out and the seller loses out since he's giving you a refund and either doesn't have the lights back or is back to square one with the lights in his possession but not really worth selling. Plus time lost etc.

It looks like a genuine damaged in transit to me, but obviously the lack of communication over the last few weeks isn't ideal.

It shouldn't be difficult to claim by parcelforce. Did you keep the ppackaging like he asked and send him photos of it? He would need that in order to make the claim, like he says.

If so, then this should be addressed by courier.

If packaging was undamaged then i believe the onus is on the seller for not packing the parcel adequately.

If sending anything fragile i always ensure anything that can break has additional buffering/protection/packaging.
If anyone has seen my packing they will know.

Im not trying to rock the boat here but just covering (what i believe) to be your options here.

If usman has been on the forum it is only common courtesy to keep you (the buyer) in the loop with progress.

I still have the box.

I'm not going to charge anybody useman or courier for damage, but there are signs on box in places where lugs was and lights was just dropped into the box one onto the other when bottom one was with lugs down. Those two get damaged.

I paid 55 quid for one good and one damaged. Then spent another 10 pounds for glue on egay from this auction

ATM lights are in my sheed but not sure about this glue. Polypropylene is very dificult to glue at home enviro.

But the think is he just took the money and soon after forgot about all this. Only this is disappointing

Can't be arsed to read all that, but I did see paypal gift. I got fleeced for £120 on a valeting forum by a guy I had known on there for 4 years. Paid by gift, got drokked over.

Lesson learned. I won't even buy something for a tenner on paypal gift now, I always pay as goods and cover the fees.

yep sending plastic parts in the post is a bit of a gamble even if you have packaged things up properly

I must admit a few parts ive received and sent have arrived damaged and thats why some parts are sold on a collection only basis.
Whoever arranged the courier or posts the item is responsible for making the claim for damage - it may be that claim has been lodged with parcelforce and they are dragging their feet = you can wait a long time before getting any refund from them.

I don't understand the paypal concept of 'paying by gift' rather than 'paying as goods', I've never used paypal myself but may do in the future. Can some-one enlighten me, please? I had a similar situation a few years ago with an fj12 petrol tank, it left the seller in immaculate condition, but arrived with a nasty dent and , obviously, paint damage to one upper corner, without providing proof of the damage, the seller sent me several items from the same machine, admittedly that I didn't need for the restauration, but by selling these on , it more than covered the cost of having the damaged tank professionaly repaired and re-sprayed

People usually pay as gift to avoid fees. Paying for goods incurs fees, the fees IIRC are payable by the seller so they usually ask that the buyer add whatever they amount to to the total or pay as a gift because they don't want to be short.

If it's someone you trust, why give PayPal money for fees? Most people then send it as a gift so there are no fees. The only downside is that if you send it as a gift you have no comeback with regards to making a claim etc. as you're falsely paying for goods.

I've found that the majority of people I've dealt with on here are sound and I usually know them a bit beforehand or go off others experiences, so send payment as a gift. So far I've not had a problem but others haven't been so fortunate. The key is to use your loaf and don't deal with people you don't trust.
