The 80's - the era that classic car enthusiasts forget?

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

I love my 80s motors. Got 3 80s vehicles now, Mustang, Aerodeck, and Virago.

I do think up until recently the 80s were a forgotten decade. 70s and earlier for the styling, 90s and later for the performance.

The oldest car I've ever owned is my Lude.

For the most part, I'm not a big fan of the 80's cars, though I wouldn't mind a Mk5 cortina or Mk 2 Granada

depends which factory they were built in buddy if it was the southern alfa factory then its a sure thing it will rot or burst into flames the northern (milan) factories were much better and my 75 wasnt as bad as some of the 4th gens on here so how far do the japs wheel the ludes

There are some nice motors from the 80's (Capri, Delta, Audi Quattro etc), but the majority are forgetful. Still lust after the three I've mentioned, all cult classics, all gaining value as we speak. Modern day classics, not sure about all time classics.

was the capri still built in the 80's? If so, only just, my last Cortina, Mk5 was a Y plate same year as first Sierra. SD1 was O.k, but my first 2 cars were 2000TC rovers, so 70's not 80's.

Erm...

280ZX, E30, AE86, DR30, 288 GTO... just a few classic designs IMO. Why are you all talking about Fords?

It's all Gordon Browns fault, removing the free tax right from owning a classic car has meant that many 80's beauties are not as financially attractive as it would/should have been.
