People can buy what they like, it's up to them. I just cant see how it's possible to make em, package them, ship them and sell them for a quid!

I'm not 100% on this but I was always under the impression that places like poundland buy in old stock or stock that's being liquidated etc, and that's how they get it so cheap?? Presumably it's sold to them at a loss by someone :?

I can't understand how people can wear these. They're really unhygienic and if you ever accidentally turn the volume up to maximum then you risk going deaf. On-ear buds for me, every time!

I would debate the hygiene point. It depends on your own personal hygiene first and foremost. Then are you sharing them, do you ever clean them, etc.

Last time I gave my friend my headphones to listen to, he returned them with a huge poo like gunk on the headphones. Threw them in the bin after.. He is not my friend no more..

remaindered, excess/ bankrupt stock mainly, sometimes seconds as well, obscure languages on packaging, over-runs by manufacturer etc....

When you take them out of your ear, where do you put them? On the table? In your pocket, in your briefcase? How clean are those places - because their germs go straight back into your inner ear. It's madness. You'd never reuse a condom, would you? Or would you? :?

I think the condom comparison is a bit silly  different bacteria inhabit those regions (fun fact: some of the same bacteria found in the vagina is also used in dairy production, are you going to stop eating either?)

IMO you're worrying too much, and I have contamination issues myself. A bit of bacteria possibly transferring from the table to my earphones and then possibly transferring to my ear and then possibly having some detrimental result is the least of anyone's worries given the amount of other stuff we're exposed to.

I'm not saying people don't get ear infections from earbuds, but IMO as long as you're not a disgusting heathen you're probably going to be alright.
