So how does Putin get out of this ridiculous situation he's now creating?
What's his exit strategy? How does he prevent this degenerating into a second Cold War?

they have been building tanks for the last 20 years non stop. They can see the west is about to dive again thanks to HSBC and RBS etc and they are just poking the nest to get us good and annoyed.

Sharpen your bayonets, the kossaks are coming I tell you!!

I'd be happy enough if he rode in on a bear and pissed on bobamas cornflakes. Its about time we had a population shake up agian. Nothing like a good war to move people about.

It is absolutely not a case of EU equals good, Russia equals bad. Anyone trying to suggest that it is, is historically illiterate and has no knowledge of the subtleties of the situation. Basically it's a struggle between two groups of people in one ex-Soviet republic that formed, rather imperfectly, twenty years ago.

The EU is a bit-part player here, effectively caught in the middle. Indeed, you might argue its intervention has been clumsy and has in some ways made the situation worse. If you're trying to make the EU out as 'good' here then you're simply showing your [a] lack of knowledge and pro-EU bias.

Here's a good backgrounder. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/danie ... partition/

Telegraph shill pls go

I wonder how many others have echoing posts of apparent superior understanding of the complex subject now that the mass media has finally 'caught up'.
