Excellent. :? How soon? :scaredtoss:
Hoping to get the header fitted before national dyno...

Exhaust paste should be avoided on all joints unless absolutely no other option IMO (especially if before the cat :? )

Exhaust paste and a tin can did a pretty good job on my old exhaust, I think @4thgenphil was even a little impressed

Further down the exhaust where it is not so hot it will be ok but not up at the manifold.

Wurly I'll have a chat with Steve and see what we can sort out.

drokk Innovative Mounts! They are a pain in the ass to install

I got the hole on the rear mount re-drilled so it would at least fit but I decided to check if the centre of the mount was any different, it was

Image

As you can see the Innovative Mount was too low. Luckily we had that sheet aluminium knocking around so I made a shim for it. Not the prettiest thing I have ever made but it has done the job:

Now the holes line up good 8-)

Getting all the mounts in was a pig of a job. I still need to get one of the rear mount bolts in and that is tonight's job.

jeez thats nearly as much hassle as fitting the rad to my lude the other day
should be well worth it though...
your 4th gen was a bit of bone shaker before all this was done-definately not for the faint hearted 8-)

I had an interesting drive up to the garage last night. I was driving and there was smoke billowing from the engine bay. Turns out Steve used a lot of WD40 when drilling out the exhaust manifold stud so it must have soaked into the heat wrap. Even with the engine off the smoke was still billowing out from the side of the bonnet :? After 10 minutes with the engine on it all went though

Anyway all the engine mounts are in now and the car does vibrate a lot more than it did, the traction bar is fully installed too and finally my Cobra passenger seat 8-)

The Innovative stuff I bought was far from perfect in its construction. The rear mount required a lot of modification to get it in and the traction bar, where the passenger radius rod connects, required work as well. While their stuff is cheaper than some of the alternative brands I am not sure I would have bought them if I knew what they were going to be like. I hope the others who have bought their stuff have an easier time of it than me.

A wheel alignment tomorrow and its on track on Sunday, not competition just a track day.

Not looking forward to fitting mine now :(
Was going to do it when I swapped the gearbox.
Thanks for the heads up though

Do the rear first. Once that is in the others will be easier to get in. Also don't do any of the mounts up tight until you have all the bolts in for all the mounts. Wee needed to widen a few holes on the rear mount.

The car drives great now. The traction bar has got rid of my castor issue and the wheel alignment has sorted out the handling a bit better.
