The non vtec clocks will not go high enough on the rev counter in anycase.

Right somehow my windscrren got a crack in it whilsts at vtecdirect...so anyone know anyone breaking a prelude import with bronze glass

There's no problem getting the glass new - you can get the bronze tint from any windscreen place. Costs a bit more than the uk green or blue tint, but was available in the same time frame when I got one last.

I went for Blue tint UKDM screen when i replaced it - was cheaper and quicker and i like it ;)
Might save you some hassle depending on what they have in stock.
I think blue tint would suit a silver lude

Your best claiming the screen through your insurance. I had one fitted to mine (blue tint) about 7 years ago and was quoted around 200 including the trim piece. Just the glass worked out at about 120. I'm sure the prices will have gone up and whilst I cannot remember the actual price, I was pretty shocked a the bronze glass costs.
