if my throttle cable position was off (due to me fettling with the two adjusting nuts of course), could this throw up a number 7 code for TP Sensor? or is it just usually a dodgy TP Sensor.

Does the Prelude have an idle position switch in the throttle body?
I know my Legnum does - and if the throttle is slightly open, then it won't detect it as being "closed". This doesn't necessarily throw a code on the Legnum, but does mean that it won't ever go into the "no throttle" mode - such as switching off the injectors on overrun until the engine speed drops towards idle speed. (A handy fuel saving technique)
