4th Gen DSP Head Unit (Tape/Radio)

Im scratching about looking for a Pioneer/Honda Head Unit for my new 4th gen.
I have the rest of the DSP set up so only the Tape/Radio Head unit bit is needed.
What ya got

Pic of actual part is shown at the start of last post by @wurlycorner near the bottom of the page - it shows the two dsp units and as stated im looking for the top part.

willing to swap or buy if anyone has the part i need.

ive got plenty of good stuff to swap ie/ whiteline rear arb, headlight covers, euro bubble sides skirts etc etc

The DSP options, whether it is the Pioneer or the Gathers/Alpine version, consists of 4 speaker, 2 tweeters, 2 center speakers, a rear subwoofer with amplifier, and double din deck- radio/tape unit and DSP/cd changer unit. The problem is that when playing the tape player, the unit gets hot, and a circuit in the DSP unit below burns, so it very unlikely a working DSP unit to be found- as you may have noticed, almost all of the imports have the radio unit swapped for some aftermarket one, because without a working DSP unit the radio unit has no sound, as the DSP unit acts also as an amplifier. It is impossible to find an original spare DSP circuit/components, and expensive to replace with generic ones. So most likely your DSP unit is not working and that`s why your radio unit has been swapped/removed.
I can verify that from my own experience with several sets, and your options is to find someone to lend you the radio unit for a check so you`d know how to proceed further.

As far as i know there is only a couple of lude owners with dsp @wurlycorner and @edaniel
I have removed the dsp unit so i guess i could send that off to one of the guys with dsp and they could check if it works. If they are willing to do this it would be great.
Ive got all the dsp set up in place just missing the tape deck but like you say need to check the dsp unit work first.

I highly doubt eDaniel has the DSP

I have a standard old OEM 4th gen head unit, but I don't think it's DSP.

Ahh it must be you that has the dsp then

funny thing is i used to have a kenwood double din in my BB4 i never realised it was a dsp unit until fairly recently - too late unfortunately id already thrown it away

Do you have a working dsp set up?

dig it out and take a photo of it if you could and take a pic of where the connections go in the back

I have 2 non working, and one of them was refurbished to work but without the DSP function.

The DSP is Lisa's works, but when you activate the eq settings, the sound is drokked up. I haven't had it apart to look at yet, but I fully expect it to be nothing more than a knackered electrolytic cap or two.

I'm more than willing to try your dsp unit out at some point if you like @vanzep

If you're sure you trust me to return it...
