Is this a good one to do a restoration on? Iv wanted one for a while. Carnt post the item number up as not sure how to post the link from the eBay app.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

I've been looking for one for over 2 years.
That one needs a jobby TON of work.
It is entirely restorable (I have looked at one that wasn't) but lots and lots of work, not a simple job. It was advertised last year (different seller). I had a load of pics and a video sent to me so was able to see all the bodywork up close. Absolutely tons of bodywork.
At that price, it's absolutely ridiculous.

Guys, you are under estimating the work needed.
It's not swapping a few bolt on panels and a paint job that it needs - it needs little bits cut out all over the shell, in difficult areas to repair, where you will need to fab up new insert pieces in complex shapes. It is entirely do-able and I would like to see someone do it, but It will take ages if you do it yourself, or cost a ton of you pay someone else to do it.
If you don't believe me, go and look at the car and slowly walk round it, adding it all up. Unless you're rolling in it and don't give a jobby about over-paying for things of course... I offered the last seller what it was worth, IMO. Unfortunately someone else ended up willing to overpay (the same person that has now decided to walk away from the car?)
If I wanted to spend £2k on buying a 1g (and then at least another £2k on restoring it!) I would have bought either of the already mint cars that were for sale in Holland last year (for less) Or import the one from Australia that was for sale last year (about £2.5k all in I thought) or the one from Japan (but I couldn't live with the furry seats and door trims). So yes - when I said I have been looking for one, I am serious, not just having some fanciful browse through eBay every now and again
