Post by weegarry41 » Wed Mar 02, 2016 7:52 pm

anyone got some links for 1999 5th gen breaks front and rear kit preferred, or is there an option to upgrade since I need a new calliper anyway?? 4 stud hubs, its a 2.0 not 4 wheel stear

Go to 5 hub then and get at least the calipers from a bb6/8.
When you want to spend some extra pennies get the accord brake from 2009 with the 300mm disc size (I think it was the 2009 model)

Kit for overhauling yourself is either from brakesinternational.co.uk or biggred.co.uk

Cheapest/easiest upgrade option for you is to get used calipers/carriers from a vtec 4th or 5th gen and get some 4th gen vtec discs and pads to go with it.
That takes you from 260mm front brakes up to 282mm, with no need to change your hubs and wheels.

There is no straight forward upgrade for the rear - all 4th and 5th gen prelude rear brakes are the same.

If you want to rebuild your brakes...The front calipers are a piece of cake.

Rears on the other hand...

Only if you need to do the handbrake mechanism. If just the piston and sliders, exactly the same as fronts ;)
