LO All

Had a go at covering my Ludes Window trim as it had gone very manky thanks to me trying to rub them down with wet and dry a while ago

Rain also causes spots on the trim as you can see on the first pic.

I will have to see how they last , if they don't I will get them painted.

I have covered them with a matt vinyl wrap cut to size ,not sure if gloss may have been better

bit tricky keeping the air bubbles out when applying but I'm quite happy with the result , I got some new carbon effect to replace my vertical door trims too

Wasn't sure if you were suggesting I wax them or asking if I had waxed them

Looks good.

Did you try them with autosol first, see if that solved the problems caused by the sandpaper?

I believe these trims are different between 4G and 5G. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think 4G trims are pretty much solid rubber. Whereas I know 5G trims are metal with a rubber coating. If you use something abrasive on them, it will likely take the rubber off leaving exposed metal.

They are slightly different yes, but 4g trims are still composite (metal formers). Think possibly 4g have thicker plastic coating than 5g.

I washed 4 large lumps of pigeon doodoo off the car today.

The car had been parked next to our garage - a favourite take-off pad for the flying rats. My microfibre-in-hand musings came up with two questions:

1. Why has evolution led pigeons to develop more voluminous bowels than they used to have?
2. Is it necessary for them to jettison some surplus weight to take off?
