£1200 to spend on a lude

So, I did some hunting on PUK and I found that it went to someone called Nabeel who bought it for approx £2500 back in 2010

Found a link to the advert for anyone that is interested.

Hmmm... So it had 164k on the clock in 2010, of which 122k had been km.

Now it's listed as "123k miles".
So if 123k is what it's showing on the clock, then it's been clocked or had the clocks changed.
If 169k is what's showing on the clocks, then they're quoting the genuine mileage (in miles), knowing the history of the car and it would also mean that the car only did 5k in 2 years (2010 - 2012)...

So if the mileage checks out, seems like need to check whether the clutch has been changed and if not, then pay close attention to the release bearing and the rest should be hunky-dory?

Anyone viewing this should get the document reference number off the front of the V5C (logbook) along with the reg, and go on the VOSA website to do a free MOT history check. You'll be able to see if the mileage is genuine or not, and when it was clocked if it has been.

It was converted at 122km on the clock and there should still be a cert to prove this as I had one and passed it on to the next owner.

As I said on my , the car had a small patch of rust developing around the key insert on the boot and the sideskirt was cracked at the bottom so check this out. I cannot comment on the mechanical condition but a timing belt wouldn't go a miss I suppose.

I asked some questions about that S-Type a while ago, never went down to see it though. Mileage checks out I think (although the maths is a bit complicated). MOT test number below so you can check out the history online.

Thank you for your recent email, please find the answers to your questions below:

1. The recent mot test number is 799959452188 (if i remember correctly the mots will show the clock being changed from km to miles at 122,000 km the car was then set to go up in miles and not kilometers.

2. The car is very clean there is no signs of rust except about 2 tiny stone chips on the bonnest.

3. The timing belt was changed in 2009, unfortunately the invoice doesnt say the mileage but you can work that out from the mileage on the mot as that was done on the same day.

4. There has been no modifications done on the car, the exhaust is a Honda access exhaust system.

5. There are no electronic issues or warning lights on.

6. The gear synchronisation is working fine.

7. The Vtec kicks in perfectly, you can feel and hear it kick in. there is no smoke coming from the exhaust and the car starts first time on a cold start.

8. As it is too dark now we will be sure to send you a photo of under the bonnet tomorrow.
