6500.

IIRC VTEC should be coming in at 5250? At least that's what some maths once said.

Mine crosses at 5500 on the clock. And I presume the engine oil level is correct?

yeah check all the usual things oil level, water temp turn your stereo off mine is a smooth changeover but it growls then screams like a bitch from 5250 onwards you can tell the difference

Ummm.... are you sure you guys are not confusing 5250 as VTEC, with the power/torque crossover on a graph?

VTEC cuts in nearer 54-5500 doesn't it?

I'm assuming there's no very oblique humour going on here.

(And yep, as now multi-stated, revving over 6500 shows VTEC is working.)

Stock VTEC is 5200ish. But remember the rev counters are never accurate.

Yea it revs over 6500 so I presume the vtec is working as it should, for some reason I remember my old prelude kicked in I could hear it quite noticibly too. But that was a h22a5 and now I'm driving with a h22a8

Vtec crossover varies between years, models and country of origin. There seems to be no logic to it really. My 4th gen kicks in at 5,000 dead.

The H22a8 produces more torque/power lower in the rev range, hence the smaller jump into VTEC.

Where abouts in London?
I'm sure there's a few around that would take a gander and confirm it's working ok :D
