That was my rx8 with a decat. Absolutely hated it when driving it normally but loved it when I ragged the nuts off it.

I dont want my prelude to sound anything like that. I want it to be "quiet" when driving normally and a bit deeper when you put your foot in it. I dont think I will be decatting my lude any time soon. Ive seen a few videos of decat exhausts and its not my thing.

The OEM intake with the resonator removed gives a growl. I kept my resonator attached to my H22a8/Type-S intake and it sounds nice with my stock exhaust.

I totally disagree with you on that. I hate the rasp, sounds like a Civic. High revving deeper tone is much better IMO.

Grr god damn GTR!! Needs to respect its elders xD

Yeah I totally agree with you Merlin. I'm gonna try and replace the intake tube first and remove the butterfly resonator when I get a chance. If it still doesn't sound right then I'll look at changing the exhaust.

I'm with Merlin also, but this is a matter of personal taste of course.

You don't want that exhaust of mine if you don't want it LOUD...

Nope. Raspy engine noise any day. Some growl is needed of course but if it's loud at idle it's too loud for my tastes.

That's why I love the mugen twin loop and hytech long tube header.

Not that yours sound rubbish Merlin. It's sounds great.

 I dont take offense. The worst exhaust sound I once had was on my first 5G lude, stock manifold, CAT, Ebay exhaust. So, so raspy :(

If I go to longlife for a custom cat back, what do I ask them for then?? I want quiet at idle and under normal driving conditions but throaty at WOT.
