Yep all those components could cause a mis-fire, but... not oil on the spark plugs.

Hopefully the plugs are actually just wet because of un-burnt petrol from poor ignition, rather than oil.

The other suggestion was the vtec gasket could be at fault but if the compression test is good atleast i havnt got to go as far as rings plus... i dont have to drive a 1.6 focus anymore! Mine is driveable again

Vtec gasket couldn't cause a mis-fire or oil in the cylinders.

Its leaking slightly anyway so it will be changed im fed up of not spending money upkeeping a car so here goes hopefully for something reliable
