Thought I should update this thread. I PM'd hondansxr asking about his opinion on Terraclean, his response was:

Cannot praise it enough .get it done you won't regret it .
As a fellow Prelude owner gave it the thumbs up, I'd thought I'd have it done on my Lude. I had it carried out on Saturday 12/10/13 at A.C. Auto Services (http://www.terraclean-sussex.co.uk). The only difficulty the guy had was trying to sort out the correct connection / fitment to connect the Terraclean device thingy to my fuel rail.

About a month later, I haven't really done many long trips, so can't really comment on fuel economy. However, one of the first things I did notice was it being more perky. A month later, I'm almost certain that it is indeed more perkier than before and does seem much smoother than before.

My dad had his 53 reg Lexus IS200 Sport done at the same time and he reckons that fuel economy has improved.

Had you not already previously cleaned your egr ports yourself as well, carrisma? :? Or have I imagined that? :?
If so, did you notice any difference when you did that and then any more difference with the terraclean, or is it the same, which suggests the benefits don't last that long?

Interesting point  "IF" I get the car back, the Terraclean is one thing I was giving serious consideration to.

Yeah, I did a lot of work on The Lude during the summer, including cleaning out the EGR ports & EGR valve. The EGR cleaning did make a tiny bit of difference, but was possibly just placebo. I believe the Terraclean treatment definitely made more of a difference than the cleaning of the EGR ports & valve.
