TS Sprint - Ingliston 11/05/14
11/05/14 - TrackScotland
Format - 10am-4pm sprints
Cost - £55
Conditions - Warm and sunny with the occasional downpour

A Mclaren Mercedes SLS was there, it sounded
3rd Gen Steve has some vids of it.
The day was going great for me, I was having fun looing it round the twisty Ingliston sprint course, untill I obliterated my drivers side CV joint and lost drive. As I was driving down the final straight and the car veered to the right and there was a load of grinding. The lap it happened was my fastest of the day so far too
So finished 2nd in class.
Run 1 me almost wiping out some railings, Run 2 fastest run with the CV joint failure.

I ended up with complete loss of drive. I we had to tow the car home but to make sure no more damage was done we whipped the driveshaft out before towing it.

That sucks.
That course really would have put your driveshafts through it though - proper hardcore non-stop action on them!

Did you have some problem with driveshafts not fitting properly and needing packing/not packing?

Have I remembered that right?

Second run looked excellent btw - very tidy on some of those corners

Re: Merlin's 4G Time Attack Lude - Another Driveshaft Bites
Yeah total obliteration. The driveshaft no longer had any physical connection to the CV joint. We took the CV boot off and a load of metal fell on the floorindigolemon wrote:Outer CV asplosion? That sucks dude

I was getting in my stride as well. The first run in the vid was just to show me almost taking out those railings, it was a lairy practicewurlycorner wrote:Second run looked excellent btw - very tidy on some of those corners
