HTC one M8 is drokking sexy actually. It's the only thing I'd trade my current htc up for, but I can't stomach the single phone cost atm (having switched last year, I'm now done with subsidised contract prices - WAY cheaper to do it the other way!)

The Nexus line from Google has had the last two models made by LG. Love my Nexus 4. Build quality is great and no cruft on top of android, it's left as designed and is better for it IMO!

I just upgraded to the HTC One M8 and it is amazing! I also agree that HTC's Sense UI is much better than Samsung's Touchwiz UI.
I upgraded from the HTC One X, which I also loved, but the M8 is a beast. A very clever beast! ..with a much better battery than before.
Brilliant phone, I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

It'll be totally amazing till HTC release the next phone, and then stop giving you updates for the M8 as it's no longer the current flagship. All these manufacturers (HTC, Samsung etc) usually leave you with at least a year of your 24 month contract on an outdated version of Android. This is why I buy Nexus kit.
[edit] Also, looking at the specs - the Camera: what the heck is an UltraPixel? This is like Apple with the 'Retina' crap, take standard tech, give it a 'cool' name, and then hope nobody notices you're not using actual meaningful measurements anymore

There's already reports of the One M8 Plus which will be waterproof etc.. but I don't mind, M8 is such a nice phone to hold and use I'm sure I can put up with other people having newer/better phones eventually haha
I always thought HTC and Google Nexus were related through hardware, although I have a feeling the new Nexus stuff is made by LG..
Also, from what I can gather (although I could be wrong), it's not the manufacturer that stops offering updates but the mobile carriers. My HTC One X never got the Android 4.4 update on Orange, yet my mates on the 3 network did. ..and I think the whole problem is sorted by a good rooting
I think I read somewhere that @Donald has experience of this - although I'm far too scared to fcuk with the M8 (yet).

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what an Ultrapixel is, but I can tell you it works very well ...and the dual lens is such a good idea.
