@PerformanceAutoworks - Rich, any knowledge or experience of using these dry liners? Or is it more the flanged items or MID's? I 'may' (cough) have got myself some Wiseco 11.5:1's but they are 88mm. Darton suggest the liners to be used as stock replacements (87mm or oversize). But do you think I could get them bored to 88mm for these pistons? The walls according to the specs are 3mm thick, so it's losing 0.5mm all round. Any advice would be great bud - PM or reply here. Havn't had a good PM chat about all things H22 for a long time.

Cheers,

Rob
We have used the MIDs more than these but have used them in the past for a cheap(ish) way to convert a damaged closed deck H22 to run a forged CP N/A setup. Funily enough we took that one to 88mm and ran it at 12.5:1 comp with big valve ported head. His cam choice was poor but he couldn't be swayed so it never really made it's full potential... 285bhp and 190ft/lbs on ATR inlet and 68mm throttle body. Was a nice strong motor to drive but frustrating that we couldn't get more from it due to the cams. Oh and it was in the back of Pug 205GTi 8-)

Mmm...

So...should I consider buying it??? It's looking better the more pics I get and the more I speak to him. Awaiting some measurements of each cylinder. He's based in Birmingham, on route for a journey I've got to make next Saturday morning, so I'll be popping in to take a look myself. Not necessarily to buy, I'll be going past a week later to think about it.

Rich - I could appreciate these on an NA build, but in your honest opinion, should I consider this block at all? Say, if I can satisfy myself on the install of the liners, condition of them and the block, and at the right price of course. :?

Is your existing block not up to the job of what you're going to put it through then, Rob?

to be honest, i think you'd always be wishing you had the M.I.Ds.The sleeves have got to be the most important part of your build so i personally wouldn't risk it when you think of the other components its going to damage if they fail. But that's just my opinion and admittedly im not all that knowledgeable on the subject lol

This isn't for the 'current build' no. That will run (at 9psi + water/meth injection) until the engine goes pop and then I planned to build the spare engine I have on the side to take more boost and take the supercharger further again.

Appreciate what your saying FBS2S, and your thinking is right, I'd love the MID's, but it's all money at the end of the day. Another open deck block, the MID's + installation is gonna be a shed load more than a cheeky offer at these. It's not like I'm aiming for 500bhp out of my setup, there's a limit to the supercharger, the most I think could be achieved (off the top of my head, knowing builds in the US) is gonna be 350bhp max. So on that thinking the liners might do me? :?

Decisions, decisions. This is all assuming I could find the money soon. Been spending on other things when I shouldn't already!
