Only downside to the IOM, is the cost of the ferry.

You're looking at upwards of £150 for a return trip.

Pity. 20 Ludes going round Applecross could be fun.

I have not been yet but EVERYthing mentioned so far sounds like just as much fuel and ferry cost as going to MECCA for cars in europe.. A european prelude trip that goes somewhere other than the ring sounds like a massive faf for little return. This is just my opinion. No one has suggested anything that would make me want to spunnk this much cash on driving normal public roads where i can get a ticket and basically miss out on all the other additional car related fun a ring trip would bring.

Also everything mention in the past two pages was basically in the UK yet stil included a ferry ride and 1000 miles of travel.

Bone

LLL makes a fair point tbh.

I wouldn't spend the same money as it would cost to go elsewhere just to stay in the UK.

Isn't this why most people go abroad for holidays? The Brits are too good at ripping eachother off IMO.

A perfect example of this I spent 7-8 days in an apartment in Cambridge, cost me the same to rent that as it did for me to rent a house on the beach in Italy. Doesn't make sense

Nurburgring and Spa for me (tbh, I'm much more excited about Spa, the ring just looks way too busy with idiots everytime I see video clips on line).

@wurly: spa only has 4 public open days per year mate so you wont be getting much time and it will be packed.... Also everyone thats at the ring on the saturday will drive the 50 minutes to SPA for the sunday. Same people just a different track.

We are/were seriously considering going to spa next sunday as it happens to be one of their open days but on consideration it will probably mean a slightly quieter ring so we will probs stay there. The extra cash to do spa will probs tip it over into silly monies.
