Type S / H22a8 air box section.

Post by JDM-BB4 » Wed Jun 11, 2014 9:20 am

Does anyone have the upper half of the dynamic intake air box available.

I assume this section is unique to the intake as the opening is oval in shape and not just round like a standard airbox?

Ooh, you'll be lucky mate..

Check with Mills, I believe he still has a Type-S intake for sale.

I just want the airbox section so I doubt anyone with a complete intake would split it. :(

The top is a unique section, yep.

How comes you're just after the top bit Dave?

Was buying one from a guy but the top section of the airbox is cracked. :(

:? Strange...

That shows the three different plenum variants (H22A/2 and /5 and /8) but only shows the H22A/2/5 filter housing top cover. Doesn't show the /8 top cover?

EDIT: presumably they don't show a different drawing, but the part number changes.
This is the same page from a Type-S listing and athough the drawing shows the A/A2/A5 plenums, it doesn't list those in the parts list, only the A8 plenum.

I was getting it for £40 delivered before I discovered the damage.

Real shame that it's damaged. It's not so much cracked but a big section missing around the front left corner around one of the fixings so fibreglass probably wouldn't cut it.

Aw well shame it wasn't undanaged like he first said.

Could you not cut a section out of another airbox to repair the hole? Or cut off the oval joiner on the broken one, cut off the round joiner on a good one and use some magic to fix them together as one?
