Tax discs being scrapped - 1st October 2014

Turns out tax discs will not need to be shown on your vehicle from 1st October onwards as the authorities are now fully reliant on Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems.

Why the heck have the motoring lobbyists not been banging the drum about that? Instead of wasting their time saying they think it might lead to more tax avoidance?
