slipping clutch :/

Post by Matteo_xxx » Sat Nov 21, 2015 8:56 pm

so after changing a complete clutch with OEM one it has been still slipping in the time before the engine/gearbox gets warmer. Yesterday bought new clutch cylinders were also installed and the clutch is now biting better but its still slipping. It gets me really nervous after spending money on this and cant really think of what can i do about it to prevent slipping. This surely cant be the reason to sell my car or... lol
The guy that changed complete clutch should fit it correctly because he has done this many times on Hondas i would guess. But if he would fit it the wrong way would it still be slipping? He has changed clutch fluid as well.

Any directions of what to do next? Any help will be appreciated :)
If you didnt understand some part of my topic than let me know, i am not very good at speaking english.

Thanks for your respond!

Standard engine? Or tuned?
Is oil getting into the friction plate? (crank/balance/cam seal gone?)
Is the flywheel worn?

Hi mate, yes its standard H23A2 engine.

i have no idea if oil is getting in the friction plate, i can see it only if gearbox is bolted off the engine?
What is can seal and isnt crank and balance shaft the same thing (i guess not).

I dont know in what state flywheel is, but mechanic should mention it if it would be worn.

Thanks for your comment at least i have a plan in my head now and i already feel better :)

so best thing to do is to take the gearbox off and check for oil leak. If i remember correctly there was no oil on the previous clutch plate when it was taken off, but in the mean time we can check the flywheel too.
One thing i forgot to mention is that clutch is biting at the end of the clutch padel so at the upper position almost at the same point as the last worned clutch.

Can was a predictive text gentleman's sausage up  caM (camshaft)
Balance shaft
Crankshaft
All have seals on that side of the block that could leak oil onto the clutch.

That said, all my suggestions should have been spotted by the mechanic that changed your clutch, if there was anything wrong...

Edit: saying that... The balance shaft doesn't have seals on that side of the engine, they're blind holes :? So ignore that part...

i just remembered that when i have in neutral gear position and when clutch pedal is in the floor i can not hear any sound, but as soon as i release clutch pedal in the same neutral gear position i can hear something. Can that in any chance be release bearing not fitted properly or maybe just the whole clutch not fitted properly?
Anybody have any experience with this sound? It is constant and quite loud.
