Could be a number of things. I would start looking at you plug gaps, Dizzy (prone to faults as I just had) 02 sensor, bad earth, dodgey leads, try the easy stuff first before you go spending.

Try putting the old stuff back on one by one to see if you can solve it that way.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Bri , i have changed these parts to try and get rid of the misfire but kind of running out of ideas. i have had it tested but no codes come up,the o2 sensor fluctuates slower on tickover(about every 2 seconds) and faster at higher revs (once per second) does this sound right?

Not sure to be honest, It may not throw a code but it could be anything like fuel pump, but I would start at the dizzy, try swapping it if you can get hold of a used one.

Any other ideas guys?

Any holes in the flexi section of the exhaust? Any parts of the exhaust blowing?

Get some injector cleaner and put it in your fuel tank. It solved my hesitation on my 4G.

Did you change the rotor in the dizzy?

Its not using water is it? Some water getting into the cylinder can also cause hesitation.

Going on you saying it gets better if you give it more throttle, a Vacuum leak somewhere would be my starting point I think.

Have a really good close look at all the vacuum hoses for any splits or cracks in them. You can also try spraying (carb cleaner is it?) at each of the joints in turn with the engine running and if the engine idle changes when you spray one, that's where your leak is.
