1992 Silver BB4, GOING CHEAP, LOOK!!! *NOW REDUCED*

Post by Scott » Thu Sep 12, 2013 12:56 pm

1992 BB4 import in silver, 2.2 VTEC, Manual, non LSD

Usual features such as air conditioning (ice cold), electric windows, sunroof, cruise control, power steering, etc. All work brilliantly.

Fair condition, rust is getting bad on the passenger rear arch, worst is on the passenger door sill, a little bit around the fuel door. Also just starting to bubble on the drivers rear arch. Little knocks and dings, stone-chips, and paint is starting to lift in places but overall not too bad. Worst part is the boot lid which has a fair bit of lacquer peel.

Interior is all there, some cracks in the door handle surrounds and the drivers side mat is a little dirty but in pretty good condition I'd say.

Engine runs sweet, pulls hard and no smoke in VTEC that I'm aware of, however a water leak from the pipe that runs from the water pump is the reason for cheap sale.

Gearbox has the usual cunch into 5th

Car starts and drives, can be driven a couple miles even, but the water leak is quite extreme being right next to the pump so wouldn't recommend driving it far. I believe the leak is being caused by a perished o ring where the pipe meets the pump, however I do not have time or the patience to fix such a problem myself.

Earlier in the year the car suffered the dreaded pulley wobble, which was fixed by replacing the pulley with a brand new one from Honda, and until the current water leak problem the car was running great.

The drivers side front caliper is sticky, and the rear drivers caliper I believe is seized. Also the drivers side droplink has started to rattle due to the rubber boot thing coming off, would need replacing if whoever buys it intends to fix it up.

Mileage is circa 200,000km's however due to a broken speedo the previous owner was not sure exactly how many miles it has covered, I have since replaced the speedo and mileage now reads around 163,000km's.

Also the previous owner conveniently "lost" all the paperwork for it, so it only comes with the logbook and current M.O.T

Tax runs out end of September and MOT runs till March 2014

Modifications:
Bonnet lifters
Powerflow exhaust, it's been modified from UK fitment to JDM fitment
Ebay manifold, would need replacing as it's been scraped and banged by previous owners, and now blows
Unknown air filter, sits on the throttle body so no induction kit
Number plate tilter bracket on the front bumper
Lowered on eBay coil springs and GAB shocks all round

I also fitted some OEM wind deflectors a couple weeks ago.

The car is what it is, I bought it in April as I hated the auto Micra I was using as a daily, knowing that it had no history and needed some work, but I've never been afraid of a challenge and took it on as a little side project.

It is a shame that the leak popped up when it did, as I had no intention of selling her and had every intention of fixing her up and continuing to use her as a daily. However, it has come at a time when the tax is also due, and I'm putting my efforts into restoring my main project civic sedan to what she once was, so financial constraints and time have forced me to sell her on.

Hopefully someone will buy it and continue to restore it, if not it would make a great breaker for someone who has the space to do it, else I would break it myself.

Worst of the rust, not beyond saving however, I've had worse welded before.

Hi mate, is this car still available? If so, are you based in 'Brighton, Sussex' right at the bottom of the country? Just I know there are two places called Brighton near me as well as the one located at the bottom of the country too.

Cheers Olly

Ah gotcha. Well in that case yes - that is Brighton on the south coast.
