96UKDM Bonnet Release Catch

Hi, can anyone tell me the rough direction that the larger spring is supposed to point inside a 96 Bonnet Release Catch?

The spring on the right has come off and I can see I need to clip it to the top of the two bars, but don't know what I am suppose to clip the bottom to.

Would be immensely grateful if someone could give me a clue, as clearly I don't have one... :oops:
